The towering Indo-Aryan marble temple in Udaipur's old city, raised by Maharana Jagat Singh in 1651.
The Jagdish temple is the largest and most elaborate temple in Udaipur, raised by the Mewar royal family. Its three-storied tower, sculpted pillars and the black-marble image of Vishnu as Jagdish (lord of the universe) make it the spiritual centre of the old city.
Built in 1651 by Maharana Jagat Singh II of Mewar; carved out of a single granite block on top.
