मंदिर के बारे में
Rameswaram is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and one of the Char Dham, the southernmost. It is famed for its 1,212-pillared corridor, one of the longest in India, and for the 22 theertham (sacred wells) inside the temple.
The lingam is said to have been installed by Rama himself; the present temple is largely a Nayaka-period structure.
