Srirangam is the largest functioning Hindu temple in India, spanning 156 acres with seven concentric prakarams and 21 towering gopurams. The presiding deity is Vishnu reclining on Adisesha, the serpent of eternity.
An ancient Vaishnava shrine; expanded by the Cholas, Pandyas, Hoysalas and Vijayanagara kings.
