मंदिर के बारे में
Harmandir Sahib, the Golden Temple, sits in the middle of the Amrit Sarovar, the pool of nectar that gives Amritsar its name. Its four doors face the four directions as a sign that it welcomes people of every background. The continuous recitation of the Guru Granth Sahib and the free langar kitchen express the Sikh ideals of devotion and equal service.
The sacred pool was completed in 1577 and the central shrine in 1604, when Guru Arjan installed the Adi Granth within it.
