செவ்வாய் மகாதாசை குரு அந்தர்தாசை: வீரன் குருவை சந்திக்கிறார்

Duration and Basic Framework

The Jupiter Antardasha within the 7-year Mars Mahadasha lasts approximately 11 months and 6 days — the longest sub-period in the Mars cycle, reflecting Jupiter's expansive nature. Mars and Jupiter are natural friends in classical Jyotish, sharing a fire-and-space quality: Mars is the force that cuts through obstacles, and Jupiter is the wisdom that knows which obstacles to confront and which to transcend. The Mars Mahadasha itself (7 years) is characterized by energy, ambition, property acquisition, competition, and physical exertion. Within this context, Jupiter's Antardasha brings a tempering wisdom — the native's drive becomes purposeful and dharmic rather than merely reactive or aggressive. This period is particularly significant in the Vedic tradition because Jupiter governs dharma (righteous action), artha (wealth through right means), and moksha (liberation through knowledge). When Jupiter enters the Mars Mahadasha as Antardasha, it bestows divine grace and expands what Mars has been building. Classical commentators including Mantreswara in Phaladeepika explicitly mention this combination as producer of name, fame, wealth, and spiritual advancement for the native.
