The 9th House: Seat of Dharma and Higher Truth

The 9th house in Vedic astrology represents dharma (righteous duty and spiritual purpose), fortune and luck, the father and paternal lineage, the guru and spiritual teachers, higher learning and philosophy, pilgrimage and long journeys, and the native's inherent luck accumulated from past life merit.
