The Yoga: Lord of Gains in the House of Wealth

The 11th house rules gains, friendships, networks, and the fulfillment of aspirations; its lord is the natural significator of income and profits. When this lord occupies the 2nd house—the domain of accumulated wealth, assets, and family resources—a powerful yoga forms: income does not merely flow through but settles, accumulates, and multiplies. The principle is straightforward: the lord of the house of gains, when placed in the house of storage, ensures that incoming money is not frittered away but invested, compounded, and transformed into lasting wealth. Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (Ch.11, vv.10–13) emphasizes the 11th house as the seat of gains and fruitions; when its lord is strong in the 2nd house, the native's earning power is unassailable, and every rupee earned becomes a seed for future multiplication. The strength of the yoga is further enhanced if the 2nd lord is also in the 11th house (creating mutual reception), or if the 11th lord aspects the 2nd lord, binding income and accumulation into a single circuit. If the 11th lord is in its own sign or exalted in the 2nd, the yoga becomes unshakeable: the native becomes progressively wealthier with each passing year, and financial security is guaranteed by mid-life. Even in neutral placements, the 11th lord in the 2nd ensures that the native's gains are permanent, protected from loss, and available for reinvestment. The yoga is particularly strong if planets in the 11th aspect the 2nd lord, multiplying the connection between gains and wealth.
