सामान्य प्रश्न
What is a Yoga in Vedic astrology?
A Yoga in Vedic (Jyotish) astrology is a specific planetary combination or configuration that produces a particular effect in life. Unlike the physical practice of yoga, astrological yoga refers to relationships between planets and houses in the birth chart. There are hundreds of named yogas — from Raja Yoga (power/success) to Dhana Yoga (wealth) to Kemdrum Yoga (emotional challenges).
How do I know if I have a Raja Yoga in my chart?
A basic Raja Yoga forms when the lord of a Kendra house (1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) and the lord of a Trikona house (1st, 5th, 9th) are conjunct, mutually aspecting, or in each other's signs. The 1st house counts as both, making its lord special. The yoga activates during the Mahadasha of the planets involved — having the yoga in your chart doesn't guarantee its effects until the relevant planetary period arrives.
