Chamundi Hill, the seat of Mysuru's royal goddess, rises 1,000 feet above the city. The 1,000-step path climbs to the top where the Chamundeshwari temple stands, flanked by the giant Nandi halfway up.
An ancient shrine of the Mysore Wodeyar royal family; the present tower was added by Krishnaraja Wodeyar III.
