Sade Sati is counted from your own natal Moon. Enter your birth details to see whether your Moon is in Cancer and which phase you are in.
Saturn's dates through each sign in this cycle, sidereal (Lahiri), with its retrograde returns included.
First phase — losses, expenses, isolation.
Peak phase — Moon's own sign under Saturn; emotional intensity at its highest.
Final phase — family and speech themes.
Cancer Moon is OUT of the active Sade Sati cycle in 2026 — Saturn in Pisces is the 9th (fortune, dharma) from Cancer Moon, which is one of the most constructive houses for Saturn to occupy. The current window is a period of expanded dharmic effort and wisdom-building — not the difficult cycle. The next Cancer Moon Sade Sati is not until May 31, 2032.
Practices for a Moon in CancerJupiter in Cancer (Jun 2 – Oct 31, 2026, and Jan 25 – Jun 26, 2027) is the ruling planet returning to its own sign — this is the BIGGEST classical event for Cancer Moons in years, eclipsing whatever Saturn is doing. Honour Jupiter in Cancer with Guru puja on Thursdays; the Sade Sati question does not apply for nearly a decade.
Practices the tradition gives every Moon sign under Sade Sati, kept with faith and steadiness.
Light a sesame-oil diya for Shani Dev on Saturday evening, at a Shani shrine or beneath a peepal tree.
Chant Om Sham Shanaishcharaya Namah 108 times on Saturdays, with a quiet, steady mind.
Recite it on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The tradition holds that Shani Dev spares the devotees of Hanuman.
Give black sesame, mustard oil, black cloth or a meal to those who labour, the elderly and the poor.
Rise early, keep your word and do honest work. Saturn honours patience, service and discipline.
