FireKitchen · South-East · Āgneya — Set the hob in the south-east so the cook faces east. Keep fire and water apart — never put the stove and sink on the same slab.
EarthMaster bedroom · South-West · Nairṛtya — The heaviest, most stable corner. Sleep with your head to the south or east, and keep the bed off the exact centre of the room.
WaterPūja room · North-East · Īśānya — Keep the lightest corner for prayer — idols facing west so you face east. White or pale walls, and nothing heavy stored above.
Air / WaterMain entrance · East or North — Draw in the morning sun from the east, or Kubera's grace from the north. A clean, well-lit threshold sets the tone for the whole home.
AirToilet · North-West · Vāyavya — Best kept to the north-west or west, well away from the north-east and the centre. Keep the door shut and the space dry.
