The 7th house (Kalatra Bhava — house of the spouse) is the most important house for marriage and all significant one-on-one relationships. It governs the marriage partner, business partnerships, contractual agreements, and open enemies (as opposed to the hidden enemies of the 12th). The 7th house is the Descendant — exactly opposite the 1st house (the self). This opposition reveals a deep truth: we are most attracted to what represents our opposite or complement.
