Durga Chalisa
About this Chalisa
The Durga Chalisa glorifies Maa Durga (Shakti), the warrior goddess who defeated the buffalo demon Mahishasura. It is traditionally recited during Navratri, the nine-night festival held twice yearly, and on Fridays. The forty chaupais praise her ten arms, her weapons, and her nine forms (Navadurga).
