The Ram Chalisa praises Shri Ram — the seventh avatar of Vishnu and the ideal king of Ayodhya. The forty chaupais draw on the Ramayana narrative: Ram's birth, his exile, the rescue of Sita, and the defeat of Ravana. It is recited on Rama Navami, Tuesdays, and as part of a daily Hanuman-Ram devotional sequence.
