About this Chalisa
The Shani Chalisa glorifies Shani Dev (the planet Saturn in its divine form) — the lord of karma, justice, and discipline. The forty chaupais praise his dark complexion, slow gaze, and his role as the giver of the fruits of past deeds. It is especially recited on Saturdays by those undergoing Shani dasha or Sade Sati to seek relief and blessings.
